Senior Rep Programs ~ Senior Style Guide | Tucson Senior Portraits

It’s always fun to see your work or words in print, and I am super excited to have both published in Senior Style Guide magazine! My article, “Love ’em or Leave ’em: Evolution of a Successful Senior Rep Program” was published in Issue 13 (you can get your copy HERE), and not only does it talk about how to build a successful senior rep/spokesmodel/ambassador program, it also shows off the senior portraits of some of my past clients and senior spokesmodels. Eye candy, for sure!

Just look at the table of contents – you can see beautiful Alicia from Sabino High School!

I have always believed — and have built my business around — the premise that the best advertising a business can have is word of mouth. When you give a client an amazing experience, they’re happy to spread the word! Your studio’s senior rep program can have amazing results with word of mouth advertising. As a boutique senior portrait photographer here in Tucson, Arizona, I focus on providing the best senior portrait experience possible for my clients, and as I’ve evolved my own senior rep program over the past few years, I’ve learned a few things and I am so excited to share them with you, too!

Transformation Tuesday: Natural, Beautiful Senior Portraits

It’s Transformation Tuesday, and here’s a little peek at a before and after of how your senior portraits are retouched!

I am a huge believer in getting great images straight out of the camera. I am also a huge believer that your senior portraits should be as fabulous as you are, and not just something that everyone with a “nice camera” can capture. When you book your senior portrait session with me, each of your images gets the rock star treatment, beginning with high quality images right from the start, gentle retouching to enhance the beauty that’s already there, and ending with stunning portraits that will be cherished for years to come!

As you can see with beautiful Alicia’s photo, a simple contrast bump, slight skin correction and basic sharpening is all that’s needed! Don’t settle for average senior portraits – you deserve more!

DeeJay - Very pretty!

Transformation Tuesday: Natural, Genuine, Beautiful Senior Portraits!

I’ve received a few messages lately asking about my editing process and how long it takes.

Actually, it doesn’t take long at all All of my clients receive fully retouched images, but the actual editing time takes about 1.5 – 3 minutes per photo. I’m sharing a before/after of pretty Mia, from her senior portrait session. She’s a natural beauty, and as you can see, there’s no crazy editing going on here.

Mia’s unedited photo is on the left; edited is on the right.

Quite honestly, the best editing you can do is to get it right in camera. Learning to master white balance, exposure, metering, posing and use of natural light does more for your images than any actions or editing can do. “Natural” doesn’t have to mean flat light or funky skin tones. With Mia’s senior portrait session in downtown Tucson, we made sure to use the gorgeous desert light to our advantage so that Mia’s natural beauty shines through!

Your senior portraits should be something MORE than what you get with your yearbook photo. Your senior portraits should be high quality, professional images that result in heirloom art on your walls!
